Spelling it Right!
- Encourage them to look closely at words
- Encourage them to try new words
- Play word games with them such as the following:
Hangman
Scrabble
Spelling Test (Pretend to be the teacher and give your child a practice spelling test)
- Encourage spare time reading
- Encourage visits to the public library
- Encourage the use of a dictionary during homework time
MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD COMPLETES THEIR HOMEWORK, WHICH INCLUDES PRACTICING THE SPELLING WORDS AND VOCABULARY WORDS.
